So! While those are being proof read I've a question... I plan on sharing the cards but I wondered what would be easier. A-1 huge download or B-sections to download. Oh, and each page has 2 3part cards...so that comes to 176 3 part cards. And you thought I was joking about the OCD....
But they are as complete as I could make them. If you have an idea of something that should be included in Continent/Culture cards let me know.
I also received my beads yesterday. They're pretty awesome. I worked on them for about 2.5 hours and I got all of 1 (derh huh?) & 2 done. 4 is nearly done I'm still finishing up the cube. I think I've found some tricks that are making Montessori at Home's tut go a bit quicker in the making. If you're interested I'll share it tomorrow.
I've also found It's pretty awesome 'cause I'm using the wire from my scrapbook stuff. I've taken the "Craft From My Stash" pledge & I'm not buying anything to craft with although I think you're allowed to buy more if you're FINISHING something. But, I used my red, green & yellow wire. I'm going out to Michaels & Hobby Lobby's tomorrow to see about some copper wire. for the golden beads.
In the baggies I have 70 red, 222 green beads (who needs that many?!), and 88 yellow bars completed.
You can see I'm starting on the yellow/4 cube. LOVE the plastic canvas. I tried using wire because I really am not a fan of the look of the plastic but after seeing the look of the wire...eek!...I took it apart & went with the plasic. I'm hopin the bigger pieces will look better but...it's not so bad. Especially considering I paid less than a 100 for enough bead material to do all the different math works.
Well, the kids are asleep & I'm going to go do some beadin'! BTW...I actually have a bruise on my palm where I hold the pliars in my hand. Apparently I'm squeezing the snot out of these pliars! Also, I hold the wire between my big toe & the pointy/bossy toe (I need Rhea to paint my toes before I show you those pictures 'cause Halloween was the last time I had polish on them and I've 2 big toes with patches of black polish! I know I'm a freak...the polish will just HANG on cause I'm just too lazy to remove it.) & I actually have a red shiny spot where I've apparently been burning myself as I pull the wire through but it REALLY works well. What I'll do to save a buck! ;)
I'm off to bead! ..wish it was bed....sigh.

Honey--thank you so much! You are amazing! Some day I hope to start actually making my own materials so I too can share them. I've been working on one 6-9 chemistry work for the last week and still haven't managed to get it done and ready to share. Thank you very much for the St Pat's three part cards. I'm going to tweet about them!

Yep! The India 3parts is what I was talking about here...oh, I bet that's beautiful and your little boy loves hearing it. If he ever records some of his playing I'd LOVE to have a copy.
ReplyDeleteI think in the end the cards turned out to be 100 some cards. I hope you like them & there's more to come... :)

Ever since I learned about DIY Montessori materials I couldn't stop thinking about these beads! Where did you get yours and how much for the whole bunch? May I know the size of your copper wire? :) Er, and how long did it take for your to finish them?
